3D Spine Navigation ®

3D Spine navigation amplifies the surgeon’s extensive skill and experience. The software works in tandem with the surgeon to provide additional insight and guidance to arrive efficiently at surgical outcomes.

More accuracy, less radiation

Features:

Accurate pedicle screw placement
Brainlab Spinal Navigation delivers accurate pedicle screw placement compared to conventional surgical techniques. Navigate implants and instruments on 2D images, 3D scans, MR or CT datasets in all stages of surgery.
  • Accurately plan incisions and trajectories with any instrument
  • Supports implant placement especially in anatomically critical areas
  • Guides posterior incision and approach for minimally invasive surgeries
Decreased X-Ray Exposure
By requiring fewer verification scans due to precision instrument tracking, Brainlab Spinal Navigation enables reduced X-Ray exposure to the surgical team and the patient. Visualise incisions and trajectories in real-time and plan with any instrument at skin level.
  • Reduce X-Ray exposure to surgical team and patients
  • Plan incisions and trajectories at skin level
  • Visualise instruments on 2D images, 3D scans, MR or CT scans in real time
How spine navigation amplifies surgery
  • Navigate on any type of image data such as CT, MR and fluoro 3D to incorporate critical information into navigation.
  • Import pre-planned objects, like screws with trajectories and contoured tumors, to add context.
Treat a multitude of indications
Degenerative Cases
For routine degenerative procedures, you can intraoperatively plan pedicle screws with the help of the instrument tip offset tool. Your entry points and trajectories can be planned and stored even before the first incision. Once planned, let autopilot mode guide you to your intended destination.
Deformity Correction
During deformity cases such as scoliosis, you can navigate on more than one dataset simultaneously to bring together all the preoperative information you need. Fusion applications adapt your preoperative plans to the patient’s intraoperative position while saving time and radiation exposure from additional intraoperative scans.
Tumor Resection
3D objects visible below the surface enhance precise approach planning, add context, and give a further understanding of the patient’s anatomy, allowing you to make informed decisions with live updates during surgery.

Open Framework. Open to Everything

The spine surgery market has never had more technology. More implants. More software. More devices. More providers. The end result of all of this more is that hospitals actually have less choice. That’s why Brainlab created the Brainlab Open Framework.

Proprietary systems require hospitals to buy technology which only works with its own components. To enable more choice, hospitals have to turn to open systems. Brainlab has always had an open framework that allows free choice. With Brainlab you can choose implants. Opt for software. Embrace different devices. Combine providers. We are open to everything.

Loop X ® Mobile Imaging Robot

Loop-X is setting new standards in image guided surgery by introducing robotics to high-end intraoperative 2D and 3D imaging.

Experience new surgical possibilities with Loop-X
Robotic automation

Advance your intraoperative imaging workflow with robotics—from spine level localisation, incision planning and navigation-guided 2D imaging to pre-programmed parking and imaging positions.

Loop-X reduces scanner interaction, ensuring an optimised, time-saving workflow and giving surgeons imaging freedom and control in the O.R.

Meticulous design

Thanks to its thoughtful design, experience effortless flexibility in patient positioning, battery powered system maneuvering and seamless O.R. integration.Loop-X is compact and lightweight with an all-in-one footprint. Independently moving source and detector, wide open gantry, and wireless control tablet are all designed to increase its ease-of-use.

Reinvented imaging

Benefit from high resolution images while tailoring radiation levels and scan area to the needs of your case and the patient’s anatomy. Loop-X enables an extra large field of view, continuous adaptive collimation, X-Ray filtration and reduced dose options. Acquired images can be automatically registered to your patient so you can start navigating right away.

Elevating spine surgery at every step
  • Robotics - Enhance your surgical workflow with robotic capabilities supporting system positioning, imaging and verification.
  • Imaging - Image wider, longer regions in 2D and 3D, like the pelvis, multiple levels of the spine and stereotactic localisers with an extra-large field of view.
  • Optimisation - Optimise image quality while sparing surrounding structures through radiation collimation.
  • Positioning - Position patients flexibly—from pediatric to obese—for a large range of indications with an adaptive field of view.
  • Control - Control scanner motion with a navigated instrument or footswitch directly from the surgical site.
  • Functionality - Perform imaging during functional neurosurgery procedures without having to transfer the patient to radiology.
Mobile robotic imaging to transform surgery
Leave manually counting levels behind with robotics

Smart laser projections remove the intraop imaging ‘fiddle factor’. By defining the level of interest on a 2D image, Loop-X robotically supports localisation and projects both the incision start and end points directly onto the patient’s skin.

The patient is the focal point – not the isocenter

The detector and imaging source move independently enabling non-isocentric imaging. Patients don’t need to be positioned in the center of the gantry since the system moves the scan area to the region of interest.

Verification has never been easier

Screw placement verification is a critical yet often time-consuming task in surgery. Instrument guided imaging allows Loop-X to robotically follow the pointer or a pre-planned screw and position itself for AP, lateral or even oblique 2D verification scans.
